According to the support forum for Aceboard, this forum is heading no where...and forums are leaving because the admin is not intersted in fixing anything.  I am now checking out another compan. http://www.forumotion.com/   See what you think.  I am at work now so won't be able to do anything until tonight.

Pauline,  I don't know much about forums so I don't know what is out there.  If the free forums aren't doing it, are there any with an annual fee for the setup and members join for free?  I can't speak for the rest of the alumni committee, but if the fee fits into our budget, it might be worth looking into.

New forum is coming if the testing goes OK?

Mick has everything under control.  This is probably something I am not supposed to say out loud but Mick is also paying for new forum.  It will take some time to set up but we will get to try it out soon.

To build on Mary's thoughts - why not have the cost for a usable forum covered by the Alumni dues, even if it means raising the dues next year?  If the cost comes from dues, maybe it would be incentive for more to sign in and join in on the chatter with us.  

I think you can explain that dues are used to cover postage and other expenses. I am not sure that using dues to pay for a Web site will be easily accepted.

Pauline - I generally do not have any problems getting on at home or at work.  Don't tell my boss.

The cost of the forum site are my "dues" to CCS Alumni and I certainly agree that it would be hard to justify giving money to such a small group of Alumni.  So far the support for the forum has been great.  I really hope that this "payed" site will work better than the "free" sites or I'll look foolish?
