Hi All - arrived home about noon yesterday after a great trip. Had a wonderful time (and meal) at the Loren's last Sat.  And a plus was having Garret and Betsey Albert join us.  A lot of great conversation and reminising - what one didn't remember the other one did.  Missed all my SS friends but I'm here now!  And Karen - forgot my bucket when I went to the beach, also forgot the plastic bag I meant to take.  But with the help of two not so good shells and a kleenex I was able to save some sand for you!!!  You might be able to stick one toe in it!!!

Hi, Betty Ann, glad to hear that you are safely back. And glad to hear that you connected with Lorens and Alberts. Garrett lived across the street, Main Street, when we lived in the house between Rice's Seed and the library, in the early 40's. He was a "big kid" and a nice one. Many many years later I was pleased to meet Betsey, as I recall when we were bidding on the same piece of furniture at an auction! And I've had the pleasure of some interesting correspondence with Tom Loren, who has bits and pieces of Cambridge genealogy that were new to me.

Mostly glad you're safely back from your road trip.

Cheers, ML.

Thanks for all the welcome backs. No burn Ab - I spend a lot of time outside in the spring so I just tan gradually (unlike my younger years when I got horrific burns - usually my worst was on piano recital day).  We did get some rest but did some sightseeing also - Manassas Battlefield and the National Marine Museum (which I would highly recommend - we have to go back as we didn't see even half of it).

Garret is an old friend, Mary Lee, he and I graduated together and he is very good about keeping in touch, usually calls about once a month.  He is most interesting to talk too, there seems to be no limit to his knowledge about all sorts of things.  And Betsey is very nice, I liked her immediately the first time I met her.  And Tom had all sorts of interesting information on old time Cambridge genealogy.  So it was great for us all to be together again.

And we're glad to be back safely also - now we can start conserving gas!!!

Callie-NO actually was pretty good (considering).  It was quite a challenge taking them both out on their leashes by myself (didn't happen too often).  Poor little Penny is pretty slow these days and Callie just wants to explore everything and bark at anything srange.  A wonder I didn't zap another rotator cuff!!!  Glad you have a kitchen now - no need to repay but it would be nice to get together.
