Exactly, Thure....I got your message. Every time you see some one online, try messaging them just to say hello...pretty soon everyone will know how to use it. --Last edited by Pauline on 2008-01-06 20:06:53 --

OK Pauline, I saw that Bill was on the same time I was and I sent him a message. He seems to have received it because he answered me. I'm not sure I know exactly what was happening so I do have a question. Does that message show up in the private message box and are the only ones who see that the sender and receiver? And maybe you?

Instant messages are between sender and receiver as pop ups. Private messages go into a "mail box" and must be retrieved by the receiver. No one else has access to them or even knows they are being sent. Does that help?

Thure, I've used the Private/Instant Message here. When you're on the site and see (at the top) who else is on, click on one of the names - a box will pop up that will allow you to send a message to that individual - write your message and click send.... If the individual hasn't left the site yet, he should get the message right away. |

Did you get mine yesterday, Cathy? I tried it but I didn't hear from you so I wasn't sure if you got it.

June, I don't think I did get your IM yesterday. Maybe I left the site before it completed? Then again, once in a while I see something and, apparently click a wrong button and seem to lose what was there...... |

Another question. When I get an IM from someone and the box pops up, it says to click OK if I want to respond. I click on OK and it brings me back to the forum page. Does this mean I then need to click on the person's name to send a response? Also, it must be slow to go through because I never saw the popup from Mick until I logged on later this evening.

I had the same situation with the popup from Mick - I figured I had gone offline before he sent the IM. |

Mick and I had a good conversation using IM last night but I had the same problem. When I clicked on OK it brought me back to the forum and I had to click on his name to send my message back. That hadn't happened before so I blamed it on his Mozilla (Sorry Mick) I will get on the Aceboard forum and see if I can find out the problem
