I think I have finally made it to the new site!  This is as good a place as any to try and post a picture, especially since it is of my PET.  Her name is Daphne and she is a year old Jack Russell Terrier (Terror).....

Hopefully it worked.

Good to be back

Karen,
As far as the barking goes, Daphne is very good in the house, but when she is put in the back yard she runs the fence line on both sides of the yard.  We have tow American Bull dogs on each side of us! They seem to have their "peek holes" and bark for about 20 minutes and then it is all quiet.  We have a pool in the back yard and in the summer if there is a raft floating and no one in the pool, Daphne will get in the pool and I will find her napping on the raft.  NUT!!!!!!!!!!  She is very good with the grandkids.  They are all over her when they come and she keeps up with them just fine.  Our only problem is that she is a runner, if she gets out the front door she is gone.  I have had to go after her twice and what a pain in the neck.  She won't come when she is called and lets me get just so close and she is off again.  I guess that is why there are so many lost Jack Russells in the paper and on the internet.

Wally,
Hyper?  I thought it was psyco!  When she wants in the house, she will stand at our patio door (glass slider) and jump straight up  to a height of 6 feet and just keep doing it until we open the door.  We look over and see these ears flying up and down and figure we might as well let her go for awhile and maybe tire her out, but that never happens.  She is like the energizer bunny.

That dog is like the rest of family. Always on go. She is a combination of both. As far as bathroom u tell her what to do & she does it believe it or not. Don,t pick on any or she goes crazy. The same as your dog. Wonderful pet & with a family like her.

I had a Jack Russell, Bambi, she was hyper.  She didn't bark too much, my sheltie, Snoop, barks a lot.  When Bambi got loose there was no catching her.  I had to let her go and just wait for her to decide to come home.

My daughter lives about 1/4 mile down the road - every once in a while her Jack Russell decides he will take a tour and ends up at "Grama"'s house.  And you're right, Joan, once he decides to go there's no calling him.  He's not much of a barker, but our Sheltie definitely is, like Grace's.  As for our pets, we have two cats, two dogs, three miniature horses and a miniature donkey!

Our dog Missy and new kitten Kelsey sometimes drive me crazy when they chase each other around the house.  I like this type of relationship better.  Will it ever happen????

HI JUNE, BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF YOUR PETS. HOW DID YOU KEEP THE CAT UNDER CONTROL. OUR TOM CAT WOULD NEVER DO THAT.

That was a rare moment, Tom.  The cat is only 6 months old and the dog is 2 years old -- both still quite young.  They are usually running around the house chasing each other.  They were both taking a break at this moment and I quickly grabbed the camera.      In the picture the cat thinks she is safe from the dog because she is in her tunnel--which, by the way, is almost totally collapsed.

Thure,
Your dogs look so "majestic" in this picture.  Beautiful snow in the backround.  We have always had big dogs in the past and this is our first attempt at small dog.  I have to say that our JR has grabbed my heart!  I am not usually a great dog lover, but I find myself absolutely paranoid about her getting out the front door because I know I will never see her again.

Thure,

It did occur to me that the picture looked like it was taken at the lake house at Hedges.....

Wow, we have some good photographers here.I was also thinking that the background for Thure's doggies looked familiar. Nice job.As for my father in law's Jack Russell, Emma, he got her for free at the pound at the time his wife went into the nursing home and he needed company. Emma has not shut up since and we have decided that is why she was "free."She also gets out and the police return her. They are on a first name basis with her.The snow piles were so high in Pop's backyard that she was jumping over the fence that is about 7 feet tall. Now Emma is on a long leash!!
