| Author : | Topic: Spitzer's Resignation Speech | Bottom |
| June Posts : 607 |
Haven't posted here much because I have a friend from CT visiting for a week. Just had to check in and see what was going on. My friend and I watched that speech and we both agree. He sure didn't seem sorry about what he did, just that he got caught. That speech certainly did not seem to come from the heart and he didn't know anything that was written on the paper because he read EVERY word. When he said that he had the support of his wife and family, did you catch his wife raise her eyebrows as if to say "What did you say?" ? I'm with you, Betty.

What a mess Spitzer has created. The soon to be new governor is promising a smooth transition and guaranteed everyone their state jobs are in tact. But when asked off camera about the budget process that is due on April 1, he indicated he felt like a high school student taking the final exam without doing the homework. God Bless us.I too noticed Mrs Spitzer's look as her husband mentioned the love and support of his family. |

I noticed that he read every word of the speech (probably hadn't seen it before - that's what you have speech writers for). His wife seemed to be looking at him like she was wondering who this person was. Although I did hear that she had been urging him not to resign - guess she liked being Queen of NY. Wonder what his poor teenage daughters think of Daddy Dearest. So far I'm pretty impressed with his replacement - seemes to be nice which Spitzer never was.

Thure, I was replying to your message and it got lost in cyberspace! So, here goes 1 more time. Perhaps these women stay because for now, they have power over the husbands. They will make the mens lives a little less comfortable, and uncertain. The next shoe will drop sometime but these guys won't know when. Of course some of these wives have a whold closet full of shoes!!! I am not saying it is right, but sometimes what has been finally exposed is just a little of what these women have been living with lately.....who knows what else has happened. A little bit of revenge is probably too much to pass up. NJ xs-first lady Mcgreavy left right away, wrote a book and is still getting the last word on that guy.
