Has anyone had Pickle-sicles? They are a big hit here at concession stands. Frozen dill pickle juice in one of the little tiny paper cups sells for 25 cents. Acquired taste ![]()

And oatmeal sounds so much better than gruel. When I was first married I couldn't get my wife to buy much less fix oatmeal. Got fed up, bought a box and fixed it myself - yes even I cannot screw up oatmeal but I keep trying. Ang was amazed when I added butter and sugar to mine. Seems while a kid, all she had been given /allowed to flavor it with was real cream - remember un-homigized milk with the cream on top. No wonder she hated the stuff. And then there was "maypo" of "I want my maypo" fame.(I am just about certain that I got that spelled all wrong. Does it even exist any more? |

I remember my Mom saying, "Eat your wheatenia. It will stick to your ribs."That was usually on those very cold, below 0 degree mornings when we walked from Washington St.to CCS.Darn that was cold and even though we wore the dreaded ski pants, we froze.Well, almost. |

Pauline : Don't know how I missed pickle-sickles but I did. What a great way to not have to toss leftover salted water (Pickle Brine) into the environment - and people even pay you to take it off your hands. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!! An if you think that's not a problem, the main Post Office here in Garland is build on the site of an old pickle works. At the time, the lot price was cheap because absolutely nothing was or could be made to grow on it. The parking lot was laid out to cover the drain field from the works. Slowed down the salt leaching to a tolerable level. Of course it was built before the EPA and Superfunds |

Jerold and I managed a County Dance Place...Two Steps South... we had kids saying, "Can't you just drain the pickles...do we have to wait until the jar is empty?" We gave the pickles away but sold the juice, which more than paid for the pickles, mustard and ketchup!!

Thure, I actually order from that web-site about twice a year.
