I wish I had accepted SUNY Cobleskill's offer to major in the flower/horticulture business. Maybe there would still be a Dusha Florist in Cambridge. Oh well, now I live closer to SUNY Cobleskill and did take a few adult ed. classes........in flower arranging and other plant related courses.

I wish that I put the money that was left to me in the bank, instead of having a great time in ST. Thomas and GA
when I was 18yrs. But that is what my mom would of want , to have some fun.

the other thing , not to move around so much.

But, in doing all I did, I have a great husband and 2 great girls.

I guess the one thing I wish I had done differently is to have handled my father better after his brain injury and when it developed into Alzheimers.  That was a hard 8 years of my life and I thank God for my wonderful husband and family who helped me get through it.  I wish I had known about support groups back then and had more patience (not one of my virtues) with him.

Betty I have a great Sister that took care of my Mom and Dad through the hard times while I was out west, most of the time and I will never be able to thank her enough for what she did and the decisions she had to make, Thank you June

Thure, that was one nice thing to say to your sister!!! Well done.
And Betty,I know where you are coming from. From being there myself, you know, we did the best we could at the time. When I look back now over the caregiving situations, I am seeing it with a much clearer head than when I was in the middle of the situations and had total stress coming out my ears.Hopefully this will help prepare me for any more situations in the future and calmness will prevail.

You're lucky to have such a great sister, Thure.  Both Glen and I are only children so we had a ton of responsibility from all of our parents.

And Karen, we both know it's not easy to think clearly when dealing with all that stress.  And I was dealing with a "stubborn Jeskie"  which unfortunately I happen to be one of those also!!!

Thure, I love you!  My husband is an only child and we had his dad living with us after his mother died.  My father-in-law was a totally dependent man.  As for caregiving for your parents, you don't always think clearly in those times of stress.  I do have a great husband who has helped in those times.  Thinking back I might have done some things differently with a lot of things.
