how many of you mother's get to do what you want to do on that day?
Scott and I had a big deal about this. My mother's day is to stay home , get a card and may be some flower. Oh, in the pass few years, plant the garden.

This year we are going camping in Searsport, ME.

Then there is Father's day. I make sure the girls make cards, buy or make something for Dad. I make bake Lag. sorry spelling not even going to try. fat wide noolde with lots of cheese and meat. He gets to do what he wants.

how many cans of worms can I open with this chit chat question?
Just trying to get something new to talk about.
love to all

I do not know if I am any good at any special days, I think Xmas is a waste of time, Thanksgiving is just a day off from work, Fathers day I do not remember ever doing as a kid, Mothers day was probably the most important but I was not good at any of them send a card thats about it.I like all the holidays and think there should be more just to get off work been working for a none government job   for ever and did not get many holidays off ,,,,lol

http://www.aceboard.net/kator/smiley27.abgif      Thure, it makes me sad to read your latest posts -- you don't know your neighbors; you don't seem to care about family holidays, except to get a day off work.  I love Christmas because of the way people seem to be friendlier, show more love to their fellowman, etc.  Sometimes I wish it were Christmas year round.  Holidays to me are all about families and I wish there weren't so many miles between members of my family.  I plan to arrive home by this weekend to be there for Mother's Day and also hope to be home for Father's Day before I leave again to come north.

The best to all you who are mothers in every sense of the word!

I'm with you June - love the family holidays.  Of course I'm lucky in the fact that our three kids and assorted grandkids and great-grandkids all live close.  Mother's Day - don't know what we'll do after church - the kids will be in and out - maybe we'll barbecue (that would be Glen).  At any rate it will be a good day.  And I hope the same for all you mothers on this board.

For Mom's Day, I'm just hoping to spend some time with our daughter. Some years we have attended the Albany Tulip Festival together which is always great. Mother's Day just makes me think twice as much about my Mom.As for other holidays, I really attempt to make it family time when we actually take time and make that extra effort to spend time together. As my late mother-in-law used to say, "holidays are for making memories."Happy Mother's Day to all CCS Moms.

Mother's Day seems to change with the times of our lives.  We used to go out to dinner when Mom was alive.  Then it became my job to put on dinner for Dad and our family.  With the girls away and with their own families, Tim and I have gone on the Luc de Sacrement Mother's Day Brunch cruise on Lake George.  Plenty of food and music to dance to.  It's great even if it's raining since the boat is enclosed and the lake is always beautiful.  We also send flowers to our daughters on Mother's Day since they are my reason to celebrate.

We've been on that cruise a couple of times (as you know, Linda) and it's very nice.  We were always lucky enough to have nice weather!!!

By golly, Linda and Betty have given me an idea. My daughter wants to know what I want to do on Mother's Day. A boat ride on Lake George sounds like the place to be this year. Thanks Girls!!! Will Sunday be sunny?

Who knows about the weather, certainly not the weathermen (or women).  But you would love the cruise Karen.  We always went for the champagne bunch and the food was excellent.  (Champagne wasn't bad either!!!)
