My Thure!  That doesn't sound like you!  Remember living on Ave. A and Dad meeting all Lorraine Santerre's boyfriends who spoke Danish and some other language, maybe Norwegian. (I forget now which one.)  He would always go and carry on conversations with them.  Renewing his knowledge of the languages!

I do know my neighbors and chat with them when I walk outside with the dog.  I've baked bread and given it to them on holidays.  I've done favors for them.  Don't check their mail because we have locks on our mailboxes.

smile/hapface01.gif neighbors well let me see, we know most everyone in town and we help each other all the time. it is a wonderful small town. hang out, drink beer, mow your lawn.  Brushed hogged  my field for me last year because I was sick. I would be willing to bet in the larger cities they wouldnt know you were sick or needed help. I love my neighbors.  http://www.aceboard.net/kator/smiley2.abgif  http://www.aceboard.net/kator/smiley229.abgif

Sis I'm one of those grumpy old finns,,, I do not talk to hardly anyone , after talking all day at work with customers, I do not do much, sorta a loner, I guess, but I do run off the mouth on here more then I should I guess. I ride with one guy on every other weekend, other then that i'm a home body I guess ,, oh boy ,,,

We know all our neighbors and some are close friends.  We trade off helping each other, especially one of them who snowblows my paths in the winter; Glen either plows his driveway or he takes our truck and does it himself.  He's always ready to help.  Right now he's going to school to be a state trooper - really like the idea of him living next door!!!  It's an all around good neighborhood.

Let's  see, I don't know if I know my neighbors better or their dogs When we first moved here, we knew the dogs names before the neighbors. there is about 25 family on our road. I would say I really know and do things for 10, 10 I know to say hi to , 5 that just moved last year and I have try to get to know them. But they don't seem to care.

Then, there is my turkeys and the deer, oh, yes, the fisher cat.
i almost forgot the woodchuck, I wounder if he will be back this year in the graden.
okay, so there is your answer.

the Bufflo's on the back hill. yes, there is
then there is all the CCS people on line, that I would like to think of as on line neighbors.
email you all later

All neighborhoods I have lived in I compare to my Washington Street neighbors from my Cambridge days. While presently we are about to have our country neighbors move to another neighborhood, they are about as close to me as my Washington Street neighbors. The present neighbors married at age 75 and I was adopted into their families and I will miss them greatly when they leave in a month or 2. As in Cambridge, we just look out for each other and are there for each no matter what.As for my Cambridge neighbors, they were and are still the BEST. They still call and check on me and during hard times, I know I can still call on them and them on me if need be.I feel blessed.

I think all my old nieghbor in colia have died.
Mrs Virtue, is she still alive?
I'm sure Paul still runs the trailer lot?
Al B. died, saw that on the CCS news.
Mrs. Allen died and never did get to know the new ones.
John and his wife moved away.
so that''s it for my old nieghbors. Mrs.Allen and Mr.B did miss when moved away after my mom died. /So yes, my new nieghbors are
a little like my old.

Dodi,

My Aunt Lois Virtue is still living in Coila.  Paul is still around but I don't think there is much of a mobile home business. Maybe selling some used ones and repairing them.

I probably know about two dozen neighbors to wave to. Twelve where I know their first names and about six where I might know their last name.  Probably about four where I have been in their house. And we have been living there about 19 years.

Hey Thure, better get to know some of your neighbor.  I just heard on the news about 100 people were picked up at San Diego State U.  Cops got a lot of dope, money and guns.  I know that is west of you but you never know.   LOL

I mighht get to kmow mine a bit better if I had had Spanish instead of French - but then as bad as my French is, don't think that would make a difference. As it is, should all the "undocumeted entrant's" be rounded up in my neighborhood, if you think the bottom is out of the housing market, think again. I would guess about one house in 10 wouldn't have a 4-sale or rent" sign out front for many a block.

Lois and I were dear friends...she dated my cousin Gary Brown.  In fact I got an email from her yesterday in response to the news letter.  She asked that I put a red rose on her brother John's name.

Dodi,

Mrs. Virtue still lives in same place.  John moved to Florida and passed away last year or the year before.

Pauline,

Say hi to my cousin Lois Ann.

Ken - the name escapes me but who did Lois Ann marry - think it was the wedding that my husband was best man in.  Charlie Boice - is that right?

And the Boice family is related to Phil Sica's wife and my late Uncle Stewart Brown.

Sure, Thure - that worked for me too (family moved to Buskirk from NYC back in '59) until my brother married your cousin.  We may still be "outsiders", but we're related now.......;-)
