Thank you Thrue and Bill
is there anything I should worry about. Shalya is like one of our daughters.
She said it was fun and having a good time.
Bill, I agree with you , I have done all that too.
But I have not seen my turkeys in a few days, may be because of the rain,.

Turkey in general is safe, has its bad-hats as do all places but the religious/political fanaticism has not gotten there yet. Westerners are as safe there as they would be in any major city in Europe.

Dodi, your turkeys took a trip.........to our house. At least they are here every Sunday morning around 7:10AM. As hubby goes out to get the paper, feathers fly as they are usually sitting right next to our back door when he opens it. I'm not so sure who is the most surprised.........the hubby or the turkeys.

The thing about us Americans , i think we really believe other people like us,, well that is not true,, as my father said when he was in the Norweign merchant marines he watched Americans getting rolled over in Europe all the time , and if you ran out of money you life was not worth much. I do not like going to countries that really do not care for us Good Americans, but be with others and most of the time it is safe, like Mexico our fine neighbors do not care for us if you go enjoy and not spend ,,,lol

Was backpacking in Yugoslavia back in 76. Had lived abroad for 2 years so by that point, the only thing on me made-in-the-USA was my passport and me. Walked into a public camp ground at Split (that's a port on the Adriatic). Was alone and had not said a word to sole when a Dutch national walked up to me and asked "What part of the US are you from? Surprised, I responed "What makes you think I am an American?" "You walk like an American." "How do Americans walk?" "As an Ameican know you can go anywhere in the world and you walk like you know you can." And at that time, he was pretty clsoe to right - only North Viet Nam, Cuba, Albania and Burma were closed to us. So I told him Oklahoma and he went off happy knowing he had just met a real American Cowboy becasue all Oakies are cowboys.

So far as Americans being targeted more than locals by the local bad hats : Willie Sutton, an Ameican bank robber in the 1920s, summed it up rather well when asked why he robbed banks "Because that's where the money is." Face it, if you are Bad Hat, who are you going to roll - a poor fellow local with squat or a tourista who clearly has more goods than is good for him/her?  Crime Logic 101 is universal.
