I have moved this from the IRELAND topic. Thanks Everyone for your concern and prayers.

Sleep Apnea is a strange thing...it means you stop breathing while asleep.  I have no trouble falling asleep, wake up only to go to the bathroom and right back to sleep.  However in a 465 minute study, I woke 508 times.  I didn't know it because I don't completely wake up.  I stopped breathing on the average of 67 time an hour...which doesn't seem possible. but that is what the study says.  So after a night's sleep, I wake up tired.

Because I do not get sufficient air during the night, my asthma has gotten worse.  With my foot operation and lack of energy, I have not been able to exercise.  Doctor says the weight gain is normal with sever apnea.  I have felt like I am in a catch 22.

Getting used to wearing this huge mask has been a problem.  It covers both my mouth and nose and forces air into either one. Jerold now says..Good Night Ole Masked Wonder.  At least he hasn't awaken during the night, rolled over and SCREAMED

I really appreciate everyone's concern. I covet your prayers because I can't get over this without the Lord's help.

You most definitely have our prayers, Pauline.  As I have mentioned before, one of my son-in-laws has the same problem although I'm not sure how much he has been using his mask.  I do know he has to go back for further testing.  Also, our long-time accountant has been troubled by this for years.  Last time I heard he used his mask/machine and felt it was wonderful.

Keep trying - we're all here for you.

I asked my doctor about the possibility that I might have sleep apnea but when I gave him my symptoms, he didn't seem too concerned.  So I haven't been tested.  What about you, Thure?????

Nothing to report... I won't know until the report is sent to my doctor and the people who work with my C-pap.
