Some of you may remember my late cousin, Dorothy Dusha Lacourse. When she was a CCS junior or senior, I remember attending a talent show with family at CCS where she sang a duet with a fellow-maybe Jimmie Arnold??? Dorothy had on her prom gown and the fellow was dressed in a tux. I thought they were about the most handsome couple. I was probably in 2nd grade.I can almost remember the song. Do any of you remember those talent shows? Maybe some of you were in them.

Karen - I sure do remember those Talent Shows - what fun.  I believe they were class sponsored and the funds went toward our Washington Trips.  I remember a quartet with Jimmie Arnold, Ronnie Cairns and can't remember the other two.  I'll get out my yearbook later and see what I can come up with.  To be continued.....

Joel     If I can remember right -- Joe Vitello ,class of 1967 won the talent contest singing .  I'm almost sure it was held on Holloween night-- part of the big Holloween program they held at the school. My guess would be 1960 0r 1961 ---- Web

Web

I thought it was Joe but it's bad enough to not know how to spell a name, worse to guess wrong. Did that one once between two brothers over which did what in this case a really funny but incredibly stupid thing in high school. They wouldn't talk to me for weeks after as "You should have know I would never do anything that stupid" (yes you did and worse only not near so funny.) and "How dare you give him the credit for my idea" (whoa I wouldn't admit to the world I was that damn dumb even 15 years after the fact.)

You do know the scary part of all this is that we do remember such small things as to who won a singing contest from so far back. Heck I still know my college checking account number but I am clueless over my current one and I have had it for 30 years now. Go figure.

Thanks

Hey mispelling Halloween is no big deal. For a time, well at least long enough allow me to escape the 9th grade intact at CCS, CCS had an acclerated science program. As a result I ended up in Earth Science while a goodly number of y'all were taking spelling and the way the class schedual was, there was no other time slot for either class. Were it not for Earth Science I would now be the worlds oldest continously enrolled 9th grader. Thank you USSR and your evil sputnik - and I'm not sure that's spelled right but however its spelled, again thank you Soviet space thingy for sparing me from the terrors and scars of a spelling class.

I remember in '66 a talent show, eight period sort of deal. Bob Oscarsen ans Donald Jepson played drums together, tore the place up, had people on their feet. They placed behind a pair of folk singers
