Eric is a very nice man and seems very willing to help if he knows the problem.

Pauline, you are right about Eric. Whenever I have had an issue with the EAGLE or was forwarding something news worthy to him, he always has been very helpful and follows thru on everything.

Ah the old "Fort Hauchaca" treatment. A friend of mine was stationed at Ft Hauchaca (and please don't hold me to account on the spelling) there while I typed away on a goverment issue RC Allen typwriter in the Nam. Over a post-Army Coors, I asked him where on earth Hauchaca was, his reply "its so (colorfull Army slang deleted for your reading pleasure) remote that they had mail call once a week if the mule didn't die on the way" per him, mail call was not a common occurance. Sounds like the Eagle bought Ft Hauchaca's mail mule.

Joel,  The old fort is a booming place now!  Very busy, and lots of mail calls I am sure.  Doing a big business collecting all (well, obviously not all )of the illegal aliens that seem to cross their paths...  ( close to the Arizona/Mexico border.

Bill, now that is first class service. Don't you wish we could all afford to actually purchase the 1st class delivery? A little too much for me.

Hey gang I got another paper today.  Thats 5 in 7 days.  Eric got a fire going at the Cambridge PO I believe. Pause--Guess what, the mailman just came back and had another paper.  This one was a special request from me.  It was the paper with the Popcorn Wagon story on the front page.  Eric mailed it specal in a white envolope, cost $1.31.  Now there is a good man and I will email him my thanks.

Hotdog, Bill. If you keep getting papers at this rate, you might start to think that the EAGLE is a daily publication. Don't get used to it!!! images/icones/icon13.gif

Thure, I did receive the email with the post card advertised. My Aunt also has a black and white taken in front of LeGry's Drug Store and got real excited when I told her how much it could go for.

Wednesday's Schenectady Gazette had a story about the debut of the Rich Popcorn Wagon at the Saratoga Auto Museum. The debut will take place this Sunday in Saratoga. While the corn will be a-poppin, there won't be any peanuts or hotdogs. I wonder if it will find its way back to Cambridge this summer? Probably not during racing season.

Wouldn't that be great ... to have it at the reunion?  Doesn't racing season start in August?  I don't know 'cause I don't go and therefore, don't keep "track."

Racing season starts the end of July.  Karen and I did some "suggesting" about having the popcorn wagon at the reunion but we didn't get very far.....right, Karen?

I guess I was thinking of the night racing in July at Saratoga. However, the Schenectady Gazette article about the popcorn wagon included the name of the Saratoga Auto museum director. It made it very easy for me to drop him an email about my memories of the wagon and at the same time giving me the opportunity to ask about any plans to make the wagon available to Cambridge. He answered immediately and stated that the wagon is tied up at the Museum for our CCS reunion weekend but welcomes all of us to visit that weekend. He even suggested that we consider having our reunion at the Museum in the future. Now that would be interesting.

A reunion at the museum - wonder how much that would cost us!!!!
It's nice that you got an immediate reply, Karen.  Oh, well, maybe we'll see it in Cambridge someday.

The Museum director indicated in his email that they are trying to come up with a way to transport the popcorn wagon around. As I told Betty, just crank it up and drive it. That is what Dorothy Madison would do.I know, easier said than done.I can still picture the wagon putt-putt-putting down Main Street in Cambridge. If anyone gets to the museum to see the wagon before I do, please let us know if the little clown in his red and white suit is still turning the popper over when the corn is popped. Does anyone smell popcorn???
